Bugle head screws
Bugle head drill point screws
As it name describes, these screws have a bugle or cornet head, a cylindrical threaded body and a drill point. They can perforate, thread and fix in a single operation. Thanks to its elaboration with especial steels, as well as the thermic treatment they receive, they have acquired the necessary resistance to perforate and thread. Apart from this, they also receive at the end of their elaboration a superficial electro galvanized treatment that grants them a durable protection against corrosion. On the upper part of the flat head, they generally have a Phillip slot or cross slot that allows its application. This type of head is common among the family of self-drilling screws and it is suitable and ideal to penetrate (following the adequate technique) certain materials such as plasterboard sheets, cement boards and fiber boards. Once the screw is applied, the head remains hidden in the material (it doesn’t surpass the external surface of application), allowing all type of later coatings without revealing the join place. They are mostly used in dry construction and are designed to fix the mentioned boards to the metal pieces called still or posts in the steel frame technique. RERAR elaborates the Bungle head drill point self-drilling screw in the following measures: #6×1 1/8” y #6×1 5/8”.
